Gasification technology uses
gasification process to convert biomass into combustible gas (called producer gas). The
gas is then supplied to heat, power or CHP generation equipment. Gasification
process takes place in gasifiers. Most gasifiers are of the updraft or
downdraft fixed bed type; fluidised bed gasifiers have also been developed.
Updraft gasifiers tolerate a wide variety of feedstock types and moisture
levels but generate highly contaminated hot gas with high tar levels. These
gasifiers require complex, high cost gas cleaning technologies such as
catalytic tar cracking. Downdraft gasifiers are more sensitive to feedstock
quality and often require feedstock preparation but
generate clean producer gas with minimal tar content.
The
core of our technology is a downdraft gasifier system that converts biomass
into producer gas with minimal tar content. Follow the links to learn more about the gasification process or gasifier systems. Or, read about the power, heat and CHP plants we offer. |
